Pieces, parts and tools

Three different things. Finished watches are sold directly. Parts and tools are mostly things we buy ourselves and can point you at — if you would rather we sourced and checked them for you, ask.

01 — Finished pieces

Pre-built watches

Complete watches, already made. Each one is a single piece — when it is gone it is gone, and the next will not be identical.

  • The Rideau green day-date on a steel bracelet

    Rideau

    Green day-date

39 mm, automatic, textured green ground with applied indices. Steel jubilee bracelet.

  • The Strait sterile diver on a steel bracelet

    Strait

    Sterile diver

40 mm, automatic, 200 m, rotating bezel. No text on the dial at all.

  • A watch with an engraved landscape dial on a jubilee bracelet

    Gallery

    Engraved landscape

A one-off place dial in a 39 mm case. Ask which are currently finished — the list changes.

02 — Components

Watch parts

The components used at this bench. Where there is a listing worth pointing at, the link goes straight to it. Where there is not, ask and we will source it.

    Straps

    Quick-release leather

18, 20 and 22 mm. Quick-release pins, so you can change it without tools.

03 — Bench

Watch tools

What is actually in use here. If you are assembling your own, this is the short list worth owning before anything else.

    Essential

    Hand-setting press

The tool that decides whether hands go on straight. Do not improvise this one.

    Essential

    Case-back opener

For screw-down backs. A cheap one will mark the case; a good one will not.

    Useful

    Movement holder

Holds the movement square while you work. Saves more dials than any other single item.

    Useful

    Dust blower and tweezers

Anti-magnetic tweezers and a bulb blower. Dust under a crystal is the most common avoidable fault.
